Andrew Marquardt

Andrew Marquardt grew up in Topeka, Kansas. Following high school, he attended the University of Kansas and later graduated from Washburn Law School.  After seven years of practicing law, Andrew and his brother-in-law founded Advantage Tech in 1997, an IT and staffing services company based in Overland Park.

In 1994, Andrew married Jackie O’Brien, and together they raised three kids, Sarah, Andrew, and Maddie.  The family was very busy as the kids grew with sports, school events, and social gatherings. Andrew and Jackie were, like many parents, a chauffeur service for many years. For the past 20 plus years, Andrew and Jackie have been active in supporting various causes, including Catholic Charities, Sister Servants of Mary, and Bishop Ward High School.

It was only recently through their daughter Sarah, and a former board member, that Cristo Rey came into greater focus. When it was explained to Andrew that Cristo Rey had one major fundraiser each year, he thought he could help - maybe mentor, or provide financial support. Never in his imagination did he think about the possibility of dancing in front of a crowd at the event.  Then they said “It’s not about the dancing, it's about helping the kids.” At the risk of losing friends and family, and possibly physical injury, Andrew agreed to participate as one of the dancers because the cause is so wonderful. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys hanging out with friends and family, playing tennis, horseback riding, and visiting Colorado.
